Our academic disciplines allow you to specialize your focus to one area of interest. They are a part of your transition into higher education which involves being aware that each discipline is a distinct discourse community with specific vocabularies, styles, and modes of communication.
Life and Physical Sciences
Courses in this category focus on describing, explaining, and predicting natural phenomena using the scientific method. Courses involve the understanding of interactions among natural phenomena and the implications of scientific principles on the physical world and on human experiences.
Mathematics and Computer Science
Mathematics is one of the oldest scientific disciplines; computer science is one of the youngest. Yet both play broad and critical roles in our world today. At Fisk University, we offer robust undergraduate programs in both disciplines to form a supportive and welcoming community.
